Rick Steffens has always loved monster trucks and had a dream to be involved with them as long as he can remember. Steffens went to events, became a part of truck owners’ teams, including Bad News Racing, and eventually worked as a crew chief at the age of 17 for the Sudden Impact Racing team.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
After graduating from Fowlerville High School in Michigan in 2008, Rick completed the Think Big Program at Owen Community College in Perrysville, Ohio in 2010. He went on to use his education to work for Holt CAT in Laredo, Texas from 2010 until the fall of 2011. Rick still had the itch to work with monster trucks, and was hired by Feld Motorsports in the fall of 2011 to be the Crew Chief for the Grave Digger truck, working out of their North Carolina shop.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Rick watched Samson and Dan Patrick racing for years and was always a fan. It just so happened that the Patricks were vacationing at the Outer Banks in North Carolina in 2012, and Rick met Dan Patrick\u2019s daughter Allison. To make a long story short, all went well, and Rick was hired by Patrick Enterprises in 2013 to crew for Dan and Allison. Dan was planning to retire after driving for 30 years, and Allison was taking over driving duties. Rick then went from crewing to driving Samson in 2015, and Allison was now crewing for him! <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Allison and Rick were married in 2016. Their daughter, Hadley, was born in 2018 and son Hudson in March 2020. Rick currently runs the European Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tour with our two-truck team, and has campaigned names like Mega Wrex, Demo Derby, Tiger Shark, and more. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
