As winter has passed it’s time for the monsters to get out side and stretch their legs a bit, and that’s just what the Samson Monster Truck team did this past weekend in Mansfield, Ohio. After a long winter in smaller indoor arenas it was a nice change of pace to compete outside. Even nicer, was getting a chance to compete with Samson close to home in Mansfield, Ohio for Allison Patrick and company.

The stop in Mansfield would be the first with Monster Truck Throwdown for the 2014 season and would have two shows at the Richland County Fairgrounds with a chance for friends and family to see the Samson Monster Truck team close to home. Mansfield has been a long time favorite stop of the team and this year would be Allison’s first time getting to drive in the event, after her father Dan thrilled crowds there over the years. Allison picked up where her dad left off and had a great weekend in Samson along with her fellow drivers of the Monster Truck Throwdown tour. Highlights on the weekend included some big air in “‘Ol Sammy” during racing and freestyle, including a couple big sky wheelies during freestyle. Allison also turned in a dizzying set of donuts on Saturday night in freestyle that had the grandstands rocking.
